Desolate Realms is a semi-private immersive world building server launched in January 2025 meant to create a relaxed environment conducive to roleplay and building, allowing us to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a relaxed take at a Minecraft civilization experience. We are a community primarily focused on building and creating lore, with an emphasis on maintaining a more tempered approach to the civilization genre. We minimize the role of warfare to allow players a chance to relax and build up their cities and kingdoms without the threat of it all being taken away by someone who has more time then you do.

Many "Worldbuilding" communities devolve into glorified factions servers, where people spend more time arguing in discord and grinding for wars then actually playing the game and, well... world building! We sought to change that by making a server where you can have fun without the paranoia and backhandedness surprisingly common in block game "geopolitics". Instead of playing with a geopolitical mindset (big size on map good), we invite you to consider your actions through a lens of how they will add to the server history, or how they will bring your nation renown. Don't worry about being invaded because you pissed off some 15 year old when you have a full time job or educational career to focus on. Play at your own pace, take breaks when you want to. With no resets, we'll still be their when you come back.

Desolate Realms offers a wide variety of gameplay changes, meant to spice up gameplay while not entirely erasing the vanilla experience and enhancing roleplay and worldbuilding potential.
- A custom map generated with Terratonic- Over 40 new entirely custom food types, all with unique crafting recipes.- Over 30 new craftable weapons ranging from Scimitars to longbows meant to make minecraft's PVP more immersive and intersting.- New armours and a complete rebalance of Minecraft's armour system to make it more complex and cosmetic-friendly.- A player Driven economy using a custom PHYSICAL currency - the Ruby, which we've re-added to the game.- Voice Chat mod Support- Blue Map
- A wiki and dating system to really flesh out lore.
