Server Information

Welcome to The Random SMP (or RSMP for short).
This server has had many seasons in the past, lots of lore and events. They are all lost to time (or are they?), as the world resets. But now, the owners have decided to settle down and keep one world now, finally.

This is The Random SMP. A Survival vanilla+ (some quality of life plugins like the ability shift and punch a bookshelf to see its contents, and some custom data packs which are located in each of the Archives that tell the current season, Minecraft day, total days the SMP has been up since OG Season 1, and an entire date system cuz I was bored and made an entire 12 months 30 days each month calendar system and year system) anarchy server (just no hacked clients or hacking, but you can do whatever you want, does not really matter as long as it is not hacking, and no cursing and stuff due to different age groups that play).

It is not a large server, but the community is nice, and there is a good amount of history to explore. There is a set-up spawn and set-up areas you can live in. Neither roof access is available; this is crossplay with Bedrock Edition, but it has Java PVP, Attribute swapping, and a lot of other stuff to make it feel Java.

This is a nice community server hosted by yours truly, with a lot of future lore and stuff happening slowly in the background. (If someone manages to get into what is called "The Restricted Archives" (many have tried), then yo- minus,s well, I get to read all the books there; some have hidden mysteries and future lore too).

This can be a factions server, a normal PVP server, a community-based server, just for fun, or anything you want to make it—teams and everything too. There are little secrets to hide around. No one has O; not even the owner has operator access, to prevent admin/owner abuse if that is a worry. I'm the only one with operator access, so I can make sure everything runs smoothly with spawn protection (to prevent new players from being killed immediately, which can be demotivating and reduce overall play).

Yes, the dragon has been defeated, but I don't think you can get an elytra easily. If you manage to find an elytra somehow, I will respect you more than you think, since my teammate and I took at least every elytra we could find (thanks to distant horizons). (yes you will be able to obtain them if you can get them from someone to trade, or you kill someone who has an elytra, amongst other stuff, there is a small economy so far where you can buy an elytra, though at the time of writing this the economy and the market which will be located in a kingdom I am working on to build that is separate from the spawn kingdom will have a major market... and secretly a blackmarket if you end up reading this, if you can find it).

Speaking of distant horizons, a lot of the world has been progenerated thanks to server-side distant horizons (soon will add others like bobby and voxel).

There is no limit on gear, there is not "one mace", there is no restrictions on PVP types/methods, there is no custom gear, no /kit or anything for an advantage or disadvantage, this is a pure survival server for anyone to play, you can do like anything you want, I do not believe in restricting how the game can be played and restricting how others play.

Now, about the economy: there is no "/shop" or "/auction"; this will be done the way it used to be done back in the day. I don't want this turning into some amp with custom purchasable ranks and stuff. There are some custom ranks, but those are earned by being elected "president" or being a declared leader of a ffaction/domain/ kingdom.

Now what are you waiting for? Give it a try. It isn't as active as I would like. Still, hopefully you can help make a change and make a difference and help start this server back up, a server with full freedom outside of hacking, a server where you can do just about anything you want with no repression (someone I just found out even tried to nuke The Frostveil (one of the places with an archive), and honestly? They can do whatever; you can blow what you want up and try to; it does not bother me. Who am I to take away freedom from others? Although I will say, NO LAG MACHINES)

But anyways, come and join, and maybe you can be the next major person written in RSMP history and have your trims and stuff displayed at spawn.

*Content Creation:*

I have an idea that makes this server unique from other servers. Content creation can mean many things, like daily plays that we used to watch as a child, or maybe still do. If you want to be like Wemmbu from Unstable SMP and have a story of your own, we will happily help with that, including if it is scripted or semi-scripted.
There are some special rules, though: You cannot obtain gear without getting it legitimately first. If you do end up building a weapon of mass destruction, I ("The Host") can help with stuff with that once it's done, for example, an orbital strike cannon if you want to use it for a video for scripted purposes or semi-scripted purposes. On top of that, it cannot grief or destroy places protected under the "Keeper's Order" without permission from the current ruler of the district/kingdom. The weapons you do obtain (for example, a strike cannon) cannot be abused for griefing purposes, as these are heavily monitored for fair play amongst the server.
Besides those small rules, we will happily help you start up on The Random SMP for content (as long as you do say what the server is you play on in the description for anyone to join and play) (If you are a big content creator, for "stream sniping" there are set stuff that will be done to prevent people from ruining your scripts and other stuff (for example utilizing the "Multiverse Plugin" which currently exists in the server for purposes similar to this))
