Factions is the ultimate test of strategy and PvP skill. In 2026, the meta is split between OG Factions (classic raiding and 1.8 PvP) and Modern Factions (including custom gear and advanced TNT mechanics). Before joining, check the server's "Map Life"—newer maps offer a fair start for beginners, while established maps are better for experienced raiders looking for a challenge. How do I join a Faction server?
- Install the latest version of Minecraft Java Edition. You can download it directly from Mojang.
- Find out what version your client is. By default this will be the latest one available. It's described by a number like "1.16", "1.14", etc.
- Find a server that you like, which supports your version. Hint: you can pick one of the best Minecraft servers in the list above!
